Hello, good evening and welcome...

When I was thinking about what to write in my first post I started to think about why I run, for me running has been on and off over the years I wasn't particularly athletic at school never in a sports team but I just always loved being around sport and running didn't really take off until I was in my early 20's.

I will never forget the night when I was running with my local club back home in Bedford and we did 5 miles, it was such an achievement, such a momentus occasion, I was walking on air for days afterwards!

Since then I moved to beautiful North Wales, had two kids and live with my equally running mad husband, I also coach our very small local junior athletics club.

I've been wanting to do a charity event for my years to raise money for the club but things haven't worked out until earlier this year when I won a competition with Under Armour and a website called Topcashback who were looking to support someone with a big challenge by providing some kit and promotion for the cause.

My entry described how the junior athletics club doesn't have a track, it has limited resources and yet we manage by using the high school field and a gradual building of equipment to teach running and athletics to the local children and then feed on to the bigger track and field clubs. I wrote about my challenge,  firstly to complete the Chester Marathon in October 2016 and then to complete the North Wales part of the Welsh Coastal Path, approx 70 miles, to raise funds to buy equipment that could be shared between the club and the school. Part of the money will also be donated to Luke's Fund for a lad from the high school who had a spinal stroke at the beginning of the year and needs treatment and support for some time to come.

It's now 3 weeks until the Chester Marathon,  I'm nervously excited and then it will be all out training for the 70 miles.

I hope you'll follow my journey and give generously to the community cause.
